We set off in the two cars to Edinburgh and parked a 10 minute walk away from the start of the markets.
We split into three smaller groups, which helped ensure no one got lost. Just after we arrived at the markets it started raining heavily, thankfully we all had on our raincoats and cosy clothes. We spent 1.5 hours looking at the different stalls, getting tasters of jam and marmalade, we played with fake snow and some of us bought Christmas presents.
Despite the rain, there was still a Christmas spirt atmosphere in the air. The markets looked amazing and all the trill-seeking rides that were along Princess Street. Whilst walking around the market there was a smell of doughnuts, hot chocolate and many other tasty treats.
We had agreed to all meet up at the Waverley Mall so we could have lunch together; there was a large variety of eating-places in the mall so everyone got a choice. After lunch, we then went back into our groups, some going shopping into the larger stores and some going back to the Christmas Markets to see the areas we had not finished. We all met back at Waverley Mall to walk back to the cars where we chatted about what we had seen, bought and tasted.
