Service Users were excited about a our visit to Pitlochry theatre, to see The Wizard of Oz, this was a first for many of us and so we all sat in the kitchen and discussed how we felt. For some going to the theatre was exciting, one or two found it was quite daunting. We discussed how we could manage our feelings especially the negative ones.
As we were slightly early for the show, we had time to have a quick visit to the Dam, it had been quite bad weather yesterday and some flooding, we had expected the dam to be in full flow, however, it was all quiet, although it was very high and fast flowing.
On arrival at the theatre we took our seats in the front row of the auditorium, remembering that there were a couple who were a little anxious and wanted to be seated as close to an exit as possible, just in case they had to leave. We were pleased that everyone managed to keep their anxieties in check and no one had to leave. Once the interval came, we discussed how they were all feeling and everyone said they had enjoyed the first half of the performance. One in particular stated he was managing his anxiety. This was a very good experience for them all with everyone having more confidence and overcoming their fears, which made them more aware of what to expect in this kind of situation and happy to return in the future.
